Back to the Old Format…

So, I’ve tried out this new blog format I told you about earlier. But guess what? I don’t like it! Although the new format is easier to write, it’s harder to read. So I am happy to announce that I’m going back to the clear, easy to read format. Oh, and by the way I won’t be posting for the next month or so, unfortunately, so bye for now!

A Closer Look at the “It’s Rough” Bookmark

Hello all. Today I was looking through my old posts, and I realized that the picture in my post about the “It’s Rough” Bookmark was pretty, but not very clear. So I put together this slideshow so you can fully appreciate the bookmark’s rough edges and snazzy stripes.

(sorry some of the pictures are blurry, I used my iPod to take them. And also sorry about the small one, I don’t know why it’s like that :).)

Duct Tape Hair Extension

Add some style to your hair! These duct tape hair extensions are easy to make and stay in very well. To make them, you’ll need scissors, duct tape, and a bobby pin.

1. Cut a piece of duct tape that’s as long as your hair.

2. Hold it vertically and fold it in half, left to right.

3. Now cut very small strips of duct tape. You can use as many as you’d like (the picture shows two).

4. Push the small strips partway through the end of the bobby pin. Fold them over the bobby pin and tape them to the duct tape on the other side.

5. To put your extensions in your hair, slide the bobby pin under your hair.

A “Garden” of Crafts

OK, I have an apology to make. This post isn’t about duct tape! But I couldn’t resist posting about this wonderful blog called Creative Daisies. To summarize, Creative Daisies is a blog about the many unique crafts you can do with simple household items. For a great example of that, you should check out the post about Izze Bottle Vases. It’s hard to imagine making a beautiful vase out of a soda can, but slugger2008 did it! This blog shows that you can make so many things, without going out and buying fancy craft supplies.  I visit this blog all the time whenever I am in a homemade gift dilemma, and just for fun! Check it out!

“I Want Some Duct Tape!”

Hello all. I recently received a comment from slugger2008. It says, “Could you make a post about the best stores to buy quality duct tape? I’ve been trying to get hold of some duct tape like yours, but I don’t know where to find it!” I realize that I definitely should have written about this sooner. So, here goes: I generally buy Duck brand duct tape. Joann Fabrics has a few colors, and Michael’s has a ton, judging by their website. If you want to get largest variety of choices, I would recommend going to the official Duck brand site. However, duct tape can be pricey, so if you want a good price, I recommend Walmart. That’s all for now! Have a great week!
